Being a sales engineer is the greater challenge to a person like me. I had never dreamed to be an engineer while i was small. My ambition was to become an astronaut or a nuclear specialist. However these two ambitions could not make my dreams come true. My dream is to explore all around the world, tasting all the good food, experience difference culture, etc. All these need money. A lot of money. I have to be real.
Planned to work as a structural engineer or site engineer. I thought this is the only choice i can go for. Sales engineer is a new thing to me after graduation. Well, just give it a try to apply. And i got the offer as a Structural Sales Engineer in Esteem Innovation Sdn Bhd. Esteem software is a structural software to consultant. It then give analysis, design, QS and construction drawing as well. Nearly 80% of local consultant using this software. Reason are not because the price. Indeed the price is nearly RM 80k per license, the most expensive integrated structural software. It is due to the service, user friendly and other reasons as well.
Family, financial wise, future planning, etc leads me to put a full stop on this job. After spending about a year in puchong, I decided to move back to penang island, my lovely hometown. My family was happy about my move.
After being a sales engineer, i was so reluctant to work as a design engineer. I know i have to ,since i wish to stick on my field, civil engineering. There are no much choice in penang to work as a sales engineer which required civil engineering qualification. Got an offer from Ivory to be an design engineer. The paid and benefit is sucks. Two days before to Ivory, I got an offer from Bluescope Lysaght, truss sales engineer position. Paid and benefits is about 60% better than what i had in puchong. Really thank God for this.
Work as a truss sales engineer in Lysaght is a tough job in Penang. Penang devoloper and contractor care about price and profit. But i will not discourage because Emmanuel.
My job scope is to come out preliminary design for costing, site inspection, presentation, visitation and EAT..
